These days when you go to a race track, it’s all about who has the coolest pit equipment. The trend started with little 50cc pit bikes, then it was tricked out golf carts and Rhinos, but now the boys over at CARTEL have completely changed the game with their Pit Boss Scion iQ. That’s right, they’ve turned Scion’s new micro car into the best pit cart the world has ever seen!
The first thing that catches your eye is the brilliant two-tone finish featuring House of Colors Electric Blue and black accented with hand-laid pinstriping. The second thing that you’ll notice is the roof, which has been removed to pay homage to generations of chop top lovers and mix in a little old school hot rod design with the new school micro car trend. The body work doesn’t end at the chopped top though, the doors were also chopped and capped and the side skirts were extended and molded together with the front and rear fenders to create a unique seamless look. All of the custom exterior panels were made with the utmost quality out of metal, another nod to hot rodding as most body work today is done using fiberglass or other composites.
Upon closer inspection of the body work, you’ll notice where this car starts to reveal just what makes it the ultimate pit support vehicle. Once you get around to the back of the car you’ll notice a Snap-on tool box custom-molded into the rear bumper, and yes, the drawers really do open and there really are tools in there. Not only do the drawers to the tool box open, but they open via remote actuator just in case you thought you might not already be the coolest guy on pit lane. The rear bumper area also houses a Snap-on tools floor jack.
