Wilwood Disc Brakes has unveiled their latest big brake upgrade kits, tailored for the 1999-2012 Porsche 911 models, covering both the 996 and 997 generations. Designed to meet modern performance expectations, these kits bring significant enhancements to braking power and durability, both at the front and rear of the vehicle.
The front upgrade features Aerolite six-piston calipers crafted from forged aluminum, known for their strength and lightweight properties. These calipers include stainless steel pistons and high-temperature seals, ensuring consistent performance under extreme conditions. The accompanying two-piece 356mm rotors, made from Wilwood’s proprietary Spec37 iron alloy, are a notable upgrade, significantly larger than the stock components. They come with lightweight forged aluminum mounting hats, further reducing unsprung weight.
For the rear, Wilwood introduces the latest version of their trusted Superlite calipers, also forged from aluminum. These calipers are optimized to maintain proper brake bias, ensuring balanced braking performance. The rear kit includes 330mm rotors, offering a substantial increase in size over the original equipment.
Both front and rear rotors are available in GTB slotted or SRP drilled and slotted designs, finished with a black E-coat for corrosion resistance. These kits are fully compatible with the original master cylinder and ABS systems, providing a seamless upgrade experience. The standard BP-10 brake pads offer excellent street performance, with additional options available for different driving needs.
Caliper color options include Le Mans yellow, gloss red, and black powder coat, with 23 other custom colors available for an additional charge.
Prices for the kits start at $1,295.
