It seems that the idea behind period correct JDM cars revolves around a certain feel and presence, perhaps even more so than the parts they’re outfitted with, although those are important too. For many of these enthusiasts, the timeless “OEM plus” idea is about reviving a golden age, and living out glory days that they once only witnessed on screens and in magazines. It’s no wonder the style is almost inseparably intertwined with Japanese drifting culture, as the two scenes are fairly similar – both are all about style, and both have more than one way to do things right. While some might claim that the style of the ‘90s is back, we would argue that it never really left.
