FAST COMPANY - Volume 4 Issue 2
Owner: Rob Sztuka
Location: Markham, ON
Vehicle: 1994 Toyota Supra TT
Power: 580whp
Rewind to 10 years ago and there were only a handful of imports that could hang with the domestics at the drag strip. One of those from years past that definitely could was Rob Sztuka’s unique green Supra. Sztuka was always about the show and go and anyone who mistook his Supra for a trailer queen was murdered at the lights. Built by Magnus Motosports in Woodbridge, ON this car debuted at the NOPI Nationals back in 2001. The 2JZ had been fitted with a GReddy T-78 turbo, Type-C wastegate and A’PEXi front mount intercooler. With a custom Magnus fuel system making use of HKS 720cc injectors, the car laid down 580whp which at the time was a big number. To keep the Supra grounded, the big MKIV used Eibach lowering springs and KYB AGX adjustable shocks. The wheels selected were 18-inch gunmetal Volk Racing GT-Ns wearing Pirelli P7000 rubber to melt at each stoplight. Apart from the go-fast goodies, the car integrated plenty of high-end multimedia with an Alpine Mobile Multimedia Station and Lightning Audio installation. The exterior was enhanced with a ViS Battle Z body kit molded to the sleek body lines and shot with several coats of outrageous metallic green paint for a flawless finish.
BODY MODS - Volume 4 Issue 3
At the time there were many notable rides busting onto on the scene, but this one stood out in the crowd with its trademark graphics and aggressive styling. As the co-founder of the successful Importfest show series, owner Basit Mirza had to really get crazy with his Civic to promote the event for 2002. This 1993 Civic, formerly a daily driver was promptly transformed into a serious show car. What started out as an interior makeover wound up being a full on assault including the exterior and mechanics of the car. An Invader Type one front and Quest MRS widebody panels were fitted to the exterior, along with a Lexus GS400 taillight conversion. The suspension was ramped up with a set of B&G coilovers and the brakes were reamped up with KVR Performance cross drilled rotors. The rolling stock are a set of 18-inch RO_JA Formula 5 wheels wrapped in 215/35R18 NITTO 555 rubber. Under the hood is a potent JDM B18C with TypeR goodies, Skunk 2 headers and an AEM intake.
The Godfather - Volume 4 Issue 4
Having the title “The Godfather” bestowed upon you can either be a blessing or a burden, as a great responsibility encirles the role. L.J. Garcia is often considered by many to be “The Godfather” of the import scene based on a long list of accomplishments in the industry, as well as an innovative approach to the way he modified his 1996 HOnda Civic. In fact, tuners all over the world mimic his style. While you won’t have to kiss Garcia’s ring if you meet him at one of the many events he attends, there is a certian amount of respect that is paid to him. The chances of you ending up at the bottom of a lake in a cement coffin or buried alive in the Nevada desert, however, are slim indeed.
