AEM Performance Electronics InfinityTuner Support for 8-Channel K-Type EGT CAN Module

AEM Performance Electronics InfinityTuner Support for 8-Channel K-Type EGT CAN Module

Add Temp Channels from the 8 Channel K-Type EGT CAN Module to Infinity ECUs with a One-Plug Connection

Hawthorne, CA— AEM has added support for the 8 Channel K-Type EGT CAN Module (PN: 30-2224) for Infinity Series 7, Series 5 and Series 3 ECUs, allowing Infinity ECUs to receive temperatures from the Module’s sensors via AEMnet CAN bus. Existing Infinity ECU owners will need to download and install an updated pakgrp file on aeminfinity.com> to be able to receive channels from the 8 Channel K-Type EGT CAN Module and will then be able to import temperature data from the Module into InfinityTuner Software. Note: Since the software model ID will remain the same it will be necessary to check the channel list to verify whether channels “EGT1-8” are present. If they are then you know that you have the updated file installed.

About the 8 Channel K-Type EGT CAN Module
The 8-Channel K-Type EGT CAN Module can be used for viewing and logging all types of temperatures including exhaust gas temps (EGTs), cylinder head temps, pre and post intercooler temps, air temps, water temps, fluid temps, disc brake temps and more. It includes eight K-type thermocouple inputs that use miniature K-type connectors, which are included in our K-type thermocouple sensor kits (PN 30-2068, sold separately in 1- 2- and 4-packs).

The Module utilizes flexible CAN configuration jumpers which allow it to be used with just about any 3rd party devices that have a configurable CAN bus. Selectable parameters include CAN bus speeds (250k, 500k, 1M), selectable header length (11- or 29-bit) and selectable base address, which allows two units to be daisy-chained together on the same bus. About the Infinity ECU
The Infinity ECU delivers state-of-the-art programmable EFI control capabilities typically found only at upper echelons of Motorsports. Through the Infinity ECU, AEM makes this technology affordable for both professional race teams and amateur racers. Three Infinity ECU versions are offered to accommodate virtually any type of vehicle and level of sophistication.

Late model vehicle ECU’s all run on faster processors. The Infinity ECU is built around a latest-generation 32-bit floating point 200MHz automotive processor and Real-Time Operating System (RTOS), which is capable of processing 400 MIPS (millions of instructions per second). By comparison, common competitive systems typically use 20MHz to 50MHz processors. To our knowledge, the Infinity ECU currently has the fastest processing speed of any aftermarket Motorsports ECU available. This allows the Infinity to do more, faster, in a more stable programming environment.

  • The Infinity’s 200MHz processor and RTOS makes the Infinity more responsive, for a better driving experience
  • The Infinity’s 200MHz processor and RTOS allows for more accurate ignition timing, which enables an engine to create more power
  • The Infinity’s faster processor allows it to perform more computational features with no sacrifice in processing performance
  • The Infinity’s RTOS ensures strategic processing with optimized load balancing. This means that tuning one feature will not affect the performance of another feature

All Infinity ECU’s come fully enabled, without the need for feature add-on purchases. Combined with AEM’s industry-leading after-purchase support system, including free technical support, the Infinity is the ultimate engine control solution for both professional race teams and weekend track cars.
