Throwback: 5 MORE Vehicles from PASMAG in 2005

The year 2005 had such a variety of feature vehicles in early PASMAG, and you guys really seemed to enjoy the previous 5 Vehicles from PASMAG in 2005, so we wanted to double up on our appreciation for that year with another look back at five additional feature vehicles that once graced our printed pages. Fair warning, while we may look down on some style eras with hindsight, it's important to remember that many of these modifications and styles we consider to be extreme or "too much" paved the way for a lot of the aftermarket automotive world we know and love today.

5 Vehicles from PASMAG in 2005

This is an ongoing series. We wanted to take some opportunities to dig into the PASMAG archives - all 25 years of it - as part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, and isolate certain eras to appreciate, evaluate, or even reminisce. Enjoy an extra five vehicles from 2005 while we dwell on this iconic era.

Editor's Note: This era is part of some of the "great data loss" in PASMAG history, so I'm writing about these cars without context. All I have is the photos and whatever historical context I can dig up online, or from PASMAG staff.

1. Turtle Wax S14.5 240sx

TurtleWax240sx1.jpg

This S14.5 was one of many at the time, but with stellar execution that could sometimes be lacking on 240sx builds of the era. Nice paint work (even if it's not everyone's color) goes a long way with the kit, which by today's standards is a little dated. In the engine bay, you'll find a lot of old school parts that are still desirable by S-chassis and SR20 enthusiasts today.

2. Ultimate Audio CRX

Giant chrome wheels, aggressive and wild aero, and a painted half-livery graphic - all signs of the times. Things like the paint-matched delete panels (or covers?) in place of the side markers in the front and rear really stand out as unqiue details. As you might expect from a car adorned with the "Ultimate Audio" decal on the front windshield, there's no shortage of ICE in this build, including screens facing out the quarter windows and more custom speaker pods than we can count.

3. Turbonetics 350Z

This is another 2005 example that seems ahead of the time when we look back, with mostly minimalist and simple styling that still looks good today. As you might imagine by the Turbonetic banner, this Z had a Turbonetics turbo kit nestled in its mostly polished and carbon fiber engine bay.

4. RK Sport Chevy Colorado

This truck was featured right around the time the RK Sport kit for the Colorado was debuted. Style-wise, we actually really dig this kit, hood, and tailgate spoiler. If it wasn't obvious by the Phoenix Gold decals, this truck also featured a full audio install alongside its supercharged engine.

5. Silk Road / D1GP AE86 Corolla

SilkRoadAE86.jpg

This car is a bit of an icon to some. Driven at D1GP in Japan during the early 2000s, this orange AE86 is a Silk Road car, so one could expect a pretty cool engine bay. We love a well-built, street-driven drift car, and that's exactly what this is in its purest early 2000s form.
