For the eleventh consecutive model year, Toyota will introduce a unique color for its line of TRD Pro vehicles. What began with Inferno red in 2015, continues with Wave Maker, a pale shade of blue, for 2026.
A decidedly bright shade that eschews the earth tones Toyota has featured in recent years, including Terra and Mudbath, Wave Maker will be available on TRD Pro grades for 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia beginning this fall.
Wave Maker, which was developed in the U.S. by Toyota’s CALTY design studio says the inspiration for the new color comes from unexplored depths that even extend beyond Earth.
“With Wave Maker, we were inspired by unexplored areas of adventure including extreme territory and even beyond earth. Wave Maker expresses an elemental spirit that evokes images of glacial depths and the thrill of new frontiers,” Benjamin Jiminez, General Manager of CALTY in Ann Arbor, Michigan, said in a statement.
The shade that would become Wave Maker originally debuted as an accent color on the 4Runner TRD Surf Concept which was shown at the 2024 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
