Clarion SRQ Speakers

We all know the link between your stereo, amplifier(s) and ears is your speakers. That’s why they are the most important components in your audio system. Clarion, one of the oldest car audio manufacturers in the industry, has put decades of experience into its speaker design and the Q-Series represents industry-leading technologies, excellent value and impressive performance.

Each Q-Series speaker is based around a stamped steel frame with a corrosion-resistant black finish. The motor assembly consists of a very high quality strontium ferrite magnet. This magnet material, as compared to others, provides a more intense magnetic field around the voice coil. The result is increased efficiency and improved dynamic response. Translation – the speakers produce more sound with the same amount of power and the bass is more crisp and tighter.

The woofer cone of the Q-Series speakers is injection molded from a custom polypropylene mixture that includes aramid fibres and mica mineral. The result is a plastic with dramatically improved thermal and structural stability over conventional injection-molded polypropylene cones. Again, the result is tighter bass and clearer midrange performance with less coloration and more realism.

The tweeters used in the Q-Series components are a soft dome style. They are formed in a dome with a low-mass textile before being treated with a lightweight polymer layer to seal the material and act as solid. The combination results in an extremely light yet rigid diaphragm that can respond accurately to the minute detail.

Q-Series speakers are available in round sizes from 5.25 inches up to an oversized 6.75 inches, all in a three-way design. The SRQ1732R three-way and SRQ1722S component sets offer an increase in cone area of more than 22% over a conventional 6.5-inch speaker. The result is a dramatic increase in bass output. In most applications, the 6.75-inch speaker will fit without any modification. The Q-series also includes 6x8- and 6x9-inch oval speakers and the SRQ212H is the 0.75-inch dome tweeter is also sold on its own.
