Alpine Electronics is revolutionizing in-car sound tuning with the launch of the Alpine TuneIt™ app. This unique app is compatible with the new CDE-147BT CD receiver with advanced Bluetooth® wireless technology. Both the Alpine TuneIt app and CDE-147BT are now available.

CDE-147BT CD Receiver
Music lovers will enjoy the various audio sources available on the CDE-147BT. It has full Pandora® internet radio control from Android™ and iPhone® smartphones, allowing users to create new Pandora stations, rate songs with a thumbs up or down, and bookmark songs for later purchase. The rear USB port allows for high-speed USB connections to music libraries stored on an iPod®, iPhone or USB drive. Basic control of iPhone apps is also available through the App Direct Mode, which displays available metadata on the CDE-147BT’s screen.
The CDE-147BT has advanced BT Plus Bluetooth® wireless technology with audio streaming. Users can play music stored on a smartphone and benefit from Alpine’s exclusive Digital Sound Processing (DSP) expansion which improves the sound quality of streaming audio. Phone call sound quality is also optimized thanks to a separate microphone that can be placed in a convenient location, such as on the visor. Other functions include easy phone pairing, call waiting, and display of phone battery, signal level and received message icons on the CDE-147BT’s faceplate.
Alpine TuneIt Sound Tuning and Sharing App
Also now available is Alpine TuneIt, a smartphone app that is compatible with the CDE-147BT and the upcoming CDE-HD148BT and CDE-HD149BT CD receivers. Alpine TuneIt is free and available now on the App StoreSM and will also be available on Google® Play later this month. This unique app won a 2013 Innovations award at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held earlier this year in Las Vegas, NV.
Alpine TuneIt is a sound tuning app which also offers Facebook notifications. It takes detailed sound tuning settings -- which previously would have been tediously adjusted via a one-line display from the receiver – and makes them easily adjustable through an intuitive and interactive graphical user interface on an iPhone or Android smartphone. Users start by creating a profile with information about themselves, their vehicle, and their Alpine sound system. Settings like Parametric EQ and Crossover are easily customized through a drag and drop gesture on the smartphone. Other sound settings that can be adjusted include Time Correction, Bass/Mid/Treble and Media Xpander. Users can also choose from pre-made settings in the Alpine TuneIt database. Up to 100 different sound settings can be made and saved, allowing users to create various settings for use with specific types of music. Alpine TuneIt’s sound settings are performed through the app, so the smartphone only needs to be connected via USB when downloading the settings onto the CD receiver.
Sharing is a key part of the Alpine TuneIt experience, since users can share their settings as well as rate settings shared by others. This is especially helpful for novices without much sound tuning experience, since users with similar vehicles can simply apply the same settings shared by others. The more active the user is in sharing and rating settings, the higher his or her status progresses within the app.
Alpine TuneIt also lets users stay connected with Facebook updates. When there is incoming activity on the user’s Facebook wall, Alpine TuneIt notifies the user through an audible alert and a blinking glass button on the CDE-147BT. The Facebook icon and the sender’s name appear on the CDE-147BT’s screen, to remind the driver to check the Facebook account on the phone when the car is parked.
