The innovators at Design Engineering Inc. (DEI) have been around the game long enough to recognize when to release the right product to market. They have been at the forefront of thermal management products for many years and have several innovations to their credit such as the CRY02 system. Today, DEI continues to innovate and has ramped up their impressive list of products by adding a vast array of turbo-related products.
SPA Turbo has been manufacturing turbos and components for more than 20 years and has now formed SPA USA with DEI. Known worldwide for their design and reliability, SPA has been providing high-quality turbo systems and components at reasonable prices. With a huge inventory of turbo-related gear including turbos, wastegates and blow-off valves, we wanted to focus on one product that is sure to be hot on the customizing market – turbo manifolds.
Traditionally, when building a custom turbo system, a tubular manifold was used. Whether it was fabricated or an off-the-shelf part, tubular manifolds have two distinct disadvantages. One is price since they are expensive to make and secondly, they are prone to cracking. Even the most expensive manifold has been found to crack under extreme heat and extreme cold. The fix is never easy and has made those with daily drivers consider cast pieces as alternatives.
SPA has complete control over the entire manufacturing process, including its own casting foundry. Not many companies can make that claim; most typically outsource this kind of work. Using only the strongest, most durable alloys, SPA Turbo manifolds and turbine housings are virtually indestructible. Its proprietary alloy uses molybdenum and aluminum to improve the fit, finish and heat resistance for these critical parts. The design itself uses advanced calculations to deliver maximum flow characteristics once reserved only for tubular manifolds. The process gives SPA products the edge over its competitors’ products for over 200 vehicles!
The manifolds are designed with flange options depending on the turbo selected. Your SPA manifold can be ordered with a variety of SPA turbo chargers as well. But at the same time, they can also work seamlessly with other turbochargers with the same flanges. DEI and SPA USA and can work together with racers to deliver custom spec products. It will also produce even private label lines in mass quantities for companies looking to expand their product range.
Whether it is a simple manifold upgrade to flow better than the restrictive stock relics or to go balls out on a custom turbo setup, DEI and SPA USA have you covered. ECU and injectors aside, all of the hard-parts needed for a custom turbo are available under one roof from DEI and SPA USA.
