Back In The Game: Steve Nodarse's 1992 Volkswagen Corrado SLC

Steve Nodarse spent a long time as a truck and low-rider enthusiast before arriving where he is today. After a hiatus from modifying vehicles, Nodarse is back in the game with a cool custom Corrado. “Every show or meet I went to I always saw the Jettas, GTIs, and Golfs,” he tells us. “I rarely ever saw Corrados, but when I did see one, it always caught my eye and my interest. I just liked the look of it and always thought if I ever build something, that would be the car.”

Fast-forward to today, and his aspirations have come true. After being given the nickname “Passenger” by most of his friends egging him on to get back into a car of his own, it wasn’t long before he pulled the trigger on a 1992 Corrado SLC. It was only a matter of time before he cooked up a plan for this classic VW. “Originally the plan was to shave the bay, R32 swap, fresh paint, air and wheels,” he explains. “As you can see, that got thrown out the window. I wanted to do it differently than everyone else. I wanted mine to be original. So that's when I decided I wanted to take it to another level and made it a full blown show car.”

Nodarse’s favorite aspect of the build, and possibly the favorite aspect of the build for most onlookers, is the custom wide body work that still maintains the car’s original body lines. In looking for a way to preserve the body lines, but also do something unique, Nodarse decided to keep things subtle, yet noticeable. All in all, a very tasteful build.
