The 3rd stop of the Tuning 365 Car Show of 2021 found its way to Evergreen Speedway at Formula DRIFT Seattle.
With limited space at this venue, vehicle registration closed relatively early leading up to the event. We squeezed 60+ vehicles and a couple specialty tow trucks, and gave the attendees additional eye candy at Formula DRIFT's Round 5. The vehicle owners and builders registered to compete for one of PASMAG Editor's Choice awards, and ultimately winning a print feature. Additionally, our Tuner Battlegrounds award category and online competition was as popular as ever with 45 competitors participating and over 1100 votes were registered. The Seattle round marks the second half of their 2021 season, which leaves 2 (two) remaining Formula DRIFT rounds of our 2021 Tuning 365 Car Show series.
AWARD WINNERS
The first award of the day, Driver's Choice, was selected by Formula DRIFT PRO driver, Jhonnattan Castro. Castro drew-in a large crowd while walking around Tuning 365, and was seen on the ground and checking out engines from time to time. After a thorough walk-around, he finally made his selection for the Driver's Choice award - John Tuckwiller and his 1991 Nissan 240SX! “I chose this car because it shows a clear passion for building," Castro announced, "the level of detail, especially at the rear and with the integration of the body kit, sets it apart.”
In the Larry's Pick award category. Larry Chen, a world-renowned car culture and automotive photographer, picked Michael Lorey's 1979 Toyota Cressida.
PASMAG Editor, Adam Gordon, thoroughly reviewed all registered Tuning 365 competitors, and selected 2 (two) builds in our Editor's Choice award category. The first Editor's Choice award went to Jacob Romero's 1995 Mitsubishi Evolution, and the second one went to Matthew Nelson's 1989 Nissan Skyline GT-R.
And finally, in our Tuner Battlegrounds #TBGLIVE award category and online competition, the Popular Vote went to Cy Seigafo and his 2011 Infiniti G37. Seigafo finished with 183 votes (15%). The closest competitor to Seigafo was Frank Moreno and his 2005 Nissan 350Z, finished with 160 votes. To view the results and competitors of the Tuner Battlegrounds #TBGLIVE competition, go here.
