4 World Records Were Set at the 25th Anniversary of dB Drag Racing World Finals

The weekend of October 1st and 2nd saw the 25th Anniversary dB Drag Racing World Finals presented by Deaf Bonce take place at the Owensboro Kentucky Convention Center. All weekend long, there was nonstop competition during the event. And while thousands of fans from across the world watched the event live on YouTube, there were also spectators in attendance to watch in person.

Competitors travelled great distances to compete; some travelled as far as California, Western Canada, Maine, Texas, and Minnesota. And this was the “World Finals”, so the event attracted a few participants and spectators from other countries as well - like, Belgium, Greece, Brazil, and Germany.

There was intense competition because four world records were set at this year’s Finals. The Extreme Class saw the establishment of the most important World Record. The new world record is 185.2 decibels, which Team Soundcheck achieved after first scoring a 185.2 and then following it up with a 185.4. This is the LOUDEST certified dB Drag Racing score in the WORLD! We want to applaud the entire Soundcheck crew for putting up such a fantastic score!

Along with the Extreme record, Sam of Team Aintloud also set a Street Stock 1K record of 152 dB. Dan from Team Directronix broke his previous record in Super Street NW, setting a new record of 172.6 dB. And the Super Street X class saw a thrilling run, as Donteay from Team Crossfire set a new record of 167.8 dB.

The dBDRA honoured a number of teams and individuals for their efforts in developing the dB drag racing sport. For 2022, Moses Martinez received the Competitor of the Year honor. Moses competed this year by travelling around the nation. And he is a favourite of many people involved and has such a kind attitude.

Julius Mack Johnson III, Tennessee Bass Racers, Daniel Tate, Team Directronix, Team Crossfire, Team Soundcheck, Team Incriminator, and Team dB Revolution also received special recognitions as well. And finally, the Extreme Van's Team Soundcheck member RP Patel received the Best of Show trophy.

Congratulations goes out to Wayne Harris, Celise Harris, Malissa Creamer, Bethany Meier, Dayna Fernandez and the entire Judging Crew in celebrating the 25th Anniversary of dB Drag Racing World Finals presented by Deaf Bonce!
