Galileo Galang has always been into cars. His uncles were into fast cars and fast motorcycles. Moving to Canada at a younger age and starting from nothing, Galang had no choice but to work and go to school at the same time, and his coworker at the time learned that he just got his Novice License. "She handed me a beaten up 1992 Civic hatchback," Galang remembers, "and I updated and maintained it." His budget eventually got better and his friend found another EG in a better condition, better motor, "basically a cleaner car/shell to begin with," Galang mentions.
Galang has met a lot of good people along the way, and tell us the story of his wife. "I courted her (Filipino tradition) and won her heart in this very car," he expresses. The older and longer he stayed in the car scene, the more his hobby progressed. Fortunately, he's always had friends that were always there to help, like Allen and AZ from HotPaint Restoration that painted his Civic before his wedding and helped him make his car-show goals possible. Rob, Richard and Dave at Garage Five hooked him up with the parts, knowledge and advice. Sam, Kuen, and VP from Starcrest Automotive gave him more advice and helped with general mechanic work. Andre, Calvin and Mike from Yume Sports helped with general work and getting rare parts. "My car group, VanSpeed, has always helped me when I needed the most," Galang mentions, "and the countless hours of not sleeping and just working on cars, almost impossible ideas, but more importantly the laughs." Finally, Galang expresses his appreciation and love from his wife and for being very supportive and understanding. "I thank them all for what everyones done for me and my car."
