Action sports legend and Team Yokohama member Travis Pastrana goes back in time in the just released, utterly absurd Gymkhana 2022 film. By driving, jumping, and soaring around Florida in a heavily modified, 860-horsepower, turbocharged, 4-wheel-drive 1983 Subaru GL waggon dubbed the "Family Huckster" and outfitted with Yokohama's top-flight ADVAN A052 tires, Pastrana did the unthinkable and increased the action and amazing stunts from the hugely popular Gymkhana 2020.
“We’re not surprised at anything Travis does anymore,” said Andrew Briggs, Yokohama Tire’s Vice President of Marketing and Product Management. “Gymkhana 2020 has been viewed more than 51 million times, so Travis knew he’d have to take it to another level for the new video, and he did. And once again he showed the world what can be done on a set of Yokohama ADVAN tires.”
In the craziest of the 12-episode series and worldwide phenomenon of automobile stunt footage, Pastrana wins for the second time in a row. It includes the recognisable Gymkhana stunts, bigger air, higher stakes, and previously unheard of stunts. Pastrana declared that his all-time favourite car to drive was the Family Huckster and opportunity to operate such an insane vehicle was "rad". With all the crazy stunts, jumps, landings, various terrains, and various weather conditions, Pastrana and the team really put the Yokohama tires to the test, and as usual, they performed superbly.
The venues for the heart-pounding achievements included the Florida Keys, Marathon Bridge, and Fort Lauderdale, to name a few. Having Yokohama back on board for Gymkhana 2022 was a necessity, according to Ron Zaras, VP of Brand + Creative at Hoonigan Media Machine, a partner with Subaru and Yokohama on the project. Gymkhana driving necessitates a tire with a very narrow performance window, and the ADVAN A052 excels in that regard because to its strong grip, gradual breakaway, and, of course, massive amounts of smoke. The grip of the tire also gives Travis a sense of security, which is beneficial while he is throwing slides at speeds of more than 100 mph.
