Hyundai's Hybrid Future

So let me introduce you to the future of Hyundai. We couldn't do a PASMAG TuneUp section without talking about what Hyundai has just showed us. What you're looking at is their vision of the future of the brand specifically the N Performance Division of Hyundai.

So the first one here in the foreground is code named RN22E and as you can see from the design this is like a super aggressive take on hybrid electric vehicles. Hyundai's N Division aims to overcome the physical limit of electronic vehicles while making something that can be a weapon at the track and an everyday sports car, which is what this is supposed to be here and you can see from the inside they're not messing around. I see roll cage bits there. It's the first concept built on what they call the EGMP, which is the Electric Global Modular Platform. So this is that platform push to the max of performance that can get. So presumably since it is a modular platform it's going to be the same platform for a bunch of different builds but you can option it out or change or Hyundai will change the way it's set up. This clip gives us a little peek at what might be under the hood. We still don't have all the all the information yet but that does look promising.

As if that wasn't enough, Hyundai double-downed and followed it up with this yet another awesome concept from N Performance Division. Honestly I think this is one of the best looking concept designs in modern history. I love everything about it.

This is the N Vision 74 and it's the other future concept from Hyundai we saw in the past couple weeks. This one's a little different however. It's said to be Hyundai N's first Hydrogen Hybrid Rolling Lab, and Rolling Lab is what they're calling both these projects presumably because there's lots of testing and stuff to go down. Obviously, this is still concept stuff but gives you an idea of what we'll be looking at and the design on this is unbelievable. I think everything about this is one of the best design cars in recent history. The design is inspired by the Hyundai N 2025 Vision Grand Turismo, which we saw recently as well as the Hybrid Pony Coupe Concept from way back in 1974. Very retro future styling. Love everything about it. Hard to say how it's going to pan out but if you are a doubter, this might be time to jump ship and the future of Hyundai is looking pretty good.

As seen on PASMAG's Tuning 365 (Season 3 Episode 8) on REV TV.
